2024 - Super Bowl Week / Season Wrap Up
Between a bunch of traveling and passing around viruses, the HFFL offices were taking “holiday” for most of the NFL weekend. As such, we’ll forego most of the highlight packages. But we can’t ignore this hilariously awkward play!
Nor the fact that the Vikings beat the Packers to set up an EPIC showdown with the Lions next Sunday night with the #1 seed in the NFC on the line!
It’s a MOOO-VIEEEEEE!!!!
HFFL! Let’s wrap it up!

HEADLINE: Return of the King
The big, big LOC Super Bowl matchup lived up tot he hype in a big way! Both Nick and Jim vastly outshot their projections and the rest of the LOC to prove they were the toast of the league all along. But Jim was not to be denied. With a 167.18 point effort to best Nick, Jim is back atop the HFFL universe and has now won a record FOUR championships in his storied career! He came out firing in the auction draft and landed Henry, Taylor and Evans and got deals on Higgins and Purdy. All of those players came through in BIG ways to win him the chip. Congrats, Jim! Joining Jim in returning to the LOC next year are Nick, Andrew (who CRUSHED the Limbs for 3rd) and… yes… Caleb! Caleb took a 4-10 regular season record into the Toilet Bowl and won the thing to stave off relegation for another year! Impressive!

Down in the PL, we had a Super bowl between the two 10-4 teams! On paper, it looked like an amazing matchup! Sadly, the hype never materialized on the field as Stephen cruised to a title behind the assumed rookie of the year Jayden Daniels! Lamar Jackson simply couldn’t carry Wayne’s team. Thankfully, these two may meet again as they’ve both been promoted to the LOC! Same goes for Dan, who got by Jay to vault into the big league as well. And in the PL Toilet Bowl, Zack rode the Darnold express past Tyler to win an LOC wild card!

So the EL Super Bowl between Jonah and Peter T was a very interesting one. Jonah had a VERY strong regular season while Peter T was peaking at the right time. It turns out both teams were a little tired after a long year and their point outputs were … meh? Or maybe it was that they were defensive minded teams all along! Peter T defeated Jonah thanks to Jonathan Taylor’s late season resurgence! It had to be tough to watch that match if you were Mike and Aaron, who put up big points in the 3rd place game! Aaron got the victory and will join the LOC! And that means our final LOC wild card goes to… BRIAN! What an incredible turnaround for this guy! A last place, 4-10 regular season turned into a Cinderella run through the Toilet Bowl to an LOC berth!

Final EL Standings:

Over in the G-League, tensions were high as the LOOOONG NFL week wore on! At one point, this was looking like an absolute razor of a match! Here’s the outcome!

Yes, Ron R is our Guillotine winner! With 86 roster moves on the year, this is a HARD EARNED victory for the fantasy GM! In case you were wondering, here is Ron’s final winning roster!

Congrats to Ron for keeping his head all season!

Congrats to our three winners!! Jim R, Stephen G, and Peter T!!!! And our Guillotine survivor – Ron R!
